Cherrypal Announces Miniscule Africa Netbook for $99
Written by meekf
How long have we been hearing about a sub-$100 notebook? Too long, is the answer, so kudos to Cherrypal, the company behind the world’s “greenest” desktop PC, for announcing the first non-subsidized $99 laptop dubbed the Cherrypal Africa. “At Cherrypal, we’re extremely conscious of the so-called ‘digital divide’,” said Max Seybold, the company’s founder.
“We’re constantly looking for ways to bridge that gap, and the Cherrypal Africa is a huge step in the right direction. Plus, everyone who has tried it has absolutely loved it!” As one would expect, the Cherrypal Africa isn’t loaded with high end parts. But the $99 mini netbook does boast a 7-inch screen size and packs a 400MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, 2GB of flash memory, and can run either Linux or Windows CE. Cherrypal says it’s $99 laptop is available now through its recently launched Cherrypal Open Store. Image Credit: Cherrypal
